Walking Groups in England
The Rambler’s Association. Strictly speaking, the RA isn’t a walking group but its inclusion here was never in doubt. They’ve been working for seventy years to improve conditions and to promote walking for all. They have more than 500 walking groups within their organisation.
The Long Distance Walker’s Association (LDWA) have 41 local groups throughout Britain. As their name suggests, “The LDWA is an Association of people with the common interest of walking long distances in rural, mountainous or moorland areas.”
The British Walking Federation was formed in 1983 and is part of the IVV (International Federation of Popular Sports). Comprehensive linking to many different walking groups.
