The Forge Valley Geological Trail is in a SSSI area so please take care not to disturb the flora and fauna. Fossils may be found in the quarries. Details in PDF format.
Haworth is Bronte country, here are nine walks in the area taking in many points of interest. Also information about the Bronte Sisters.
The Peatlands Way is a 45 mile circular footpath route in North Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire linking the historic settlements of Thorne, Crowle, Belton, Epworth, Haxey, Wroot, Kirk Bramwith and Sykehouse. (No need to do it all at once!)
The East Riding of Yorkshire Council has on its website literally dozens of walks in the Riding (Yorkshire is divided into ‘Ridings’, East, West and North, although these were officially abolished in 1974. Things are hard to change in Yorkshire!)
